Tim DeWinter from Colectivo Colibri recently gave 2 workshops in General Ollanta Secondary school in conjunction with the local educational authorities on the topic of non-violent conflict management with adolescents. The workshops focused on dialogue and reconciliation using concrete and easy to use models that clarify in a simple and recognizable way the nature, causes and mechanisms of violence. Teachers were split into groups and shown the alternative methods, which were developed by Pat Patfoort, before practising them in their own context, making sure they understood the basic principles. Teachers took part in 4 participative workshops led by Tim, and are hoping to attend future events on the topic.
